TheaBigail Art & Designs is a family-owned business that blends art and faith through storytelling and product development. We want our customers to not only feel at home, but to become acquainted with the GREATEST ARTIST of all (God). He is the Source of our inspiration, wisdom and greatest delight! From the numerous twinkling stars in the heavens to the grand mountains, the lush vegetation and the ocean blue, all Creation testifies of a God of wisdom, power and might.
Our History
Brand Creation
It all began many moons ago in 2018. Just another regular day at art college for Thea. Little did she know that today would be different, today an art brand would be born. She had long dreamt of having an art brand that represented her values; a giant umbrella that could shelter all her designs and passions. There, in her graphic design class, the students were tasked with creating their own art brand and website.
Getting the Name & Palette Just Right
Names play a key role in every brand identity, after all, you’ll have it for the rest of your art career. Thea was struggling to come up with a good name until a friend of hers suggested TheaRetical Designs. Sounds a lot like theoretical, he said, because you want art that originates from concepts. It was perfect! A bubbly personality needed cheerful colors to match, and thus the warm palette was born. Yellow for happiness and cheer, orange for warmth, and blue for a foundation on God’s guidance and law of love. If there’s one thing for sure, it is that God was an inspiration for Thea’s art. From concept to creation, she aimed to admire and honor the GREATEST ARTIST of all, God Almighty.
From College to Freelancing
After leaving Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in 2020, Thea continued to work under this brand name until 2024. Some of her works included textile pieces, fashion illustrations, graphic design and photography.
TheaBigail Art and Designs is Born
In 2024, Thea sought to further develop the brand. A new name was needed, one that sounded more gentle, less “radical”. She was not working and saw the need to be more financially stable. A new university, new career path was underway, and she needed a means of supporting herself for university. Back to the drawing board she went. While maintaining the original brand values, she wanted something more. Something that better reflected the importance of Christ-centred selfless love. Something that would show the beauty of helping others and being more patient. The echinacea flower, while beautiful, takes a while to establish itself before it blooms. That resonated with her, as the years following college weren’t all sunshine and rainbows. However, they were years of growth, of waiting on and trusting in God. It was a time of seeing more clearly His love and patience for and with us. Even late bloomers are precious in His eyes. In gratitude for all God had done for her, she wanted to give herself more fully to Him, to have a platform to share His love, wisdom and justice with the world. A first draft website was created for TheaBigail Art & Designs. As Thea spoke more with her family, the decision was made, “let’s make it a family business.” Fast forward to 2025, our first products were ready and with the encouragement of our web development advisor, a domain was secured. Here begins our journey, here begins our story!
